Rachel Maddow Takes out Ad in the Boston Globe to Refute Rumors of Candidacy

"I'm not running against Scott Brown," Maddow said. "I never said I was running against Scott Brown. The Massachusetts Democratic Party never asked me to run against Scott Brown. It's just not true. Honestly. I swear. No, really."

Alas!!

Rachel Maddow has gone to the considerable expense of a full page ad in the Boston Globe to illustrate her absolute lack of interest in running for Scott Brown's seat and expose the entire fiasco for what it is: a cheap fundraising ploy by Scott Brown on the back of one of his own constituents.

Sure. Dash my hopes of a shoe-in win for someone who actually merits Teddy Kennedy's seat: YOU.

That's ok, Rach. I still have a mad straight girl crush on you.

In case you're like me, ever so slightly over 40 with eyeballs that can't see the text well enough in the pic above, here's an excerpt, accompanied by my indented responses.

"Hi, I'm Rachel Maddow. I host a TV show on MSNBC. I also live in Western Massachusetts, in the beautiful hilltowns of Hampshire County."
Hi Rachel. :) It sounds beautiful. I bet it's absolutely stunning in Autumn.

"I'm not running against Scott Brown," Maddow said. "I never said I was running against Scott Brown. The Massachusetts Democratic Party never asked me to run against Scott Brown. It's just not true. Honestly. I swear. No, really."
Yeah.. I know.. Still, a girl can dream.

"Do you remember when Mitt Romney ran for President after being our Governor and he went around the country insulting Massachusetts, talking about what an awful state we are? To have our new Senator raising money around the country by saying how terrible one of his Massachusetts constituents is, kind of feels the same way to me."
That Cosmo posing Ken doll dares to say mean things about you?
Further, Maddow wrote "it's standard now for conservatives to invent scary fake threats to run against-- things like the made up 'death panels' in Health Reform, or the fake controversy about the President's birth certificate."
    Frikkin' Teahadist Birthers!

"Senator Scott Brown's only been in DC seven weeks, but he already seems to be fitting right in with how conservatives operate there."
    Point well made, Rachel.

And that's all she wrote.

Incidentally, I purchased this url *after* the whole Scott Brown campaign fund pitch happened, and have never actually heard of any movement to draft the ever capable Rachel Maddow into office.
